This is an invitation for a: One-day Connections for Development (CfD) and Development Education Association (DEA)The conference will be held on the 26 March 2007 from 10:30 am to 4:00pm at the London South Bank University
This event will include a range of speakers examining key issues for BME community organisations engaged in education for sustainable development (ESD). The day will include presentations on the work of community groups and opportunities for discussion and networking. Workshops will be held on climate change and community action, working with young people in BME communities, linking North-South learning experiences and good practice in raising awareness of sustainable development issues.
This is a joint conference organised by Connections for Development (CfD) and the Development Education Association (DEA) and Connections for Development (CfD) and hosted by the London South Bank University Education for Sustainability Programme. Supported by the UK National Commission for UNESCO.
The Purpose of this event is to:
- To raise awareness of the UN Decade of ESD.
- Promote UK black and minority ethnic community activities in support of sustainable development.
- Draw links between the ESD activity of UK black and minority ethnic communities and groups in the South.
Target audience are:
Black and minority ethnic organisations; CfD and DEA members, students and educators working on education for sustainable development with minority communities.
THERE IS A CONFERENCE FEE OF £15 PER DELEGATE. HOWEVER, CFD MEMBERS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO PAY AS CfD WILL BE COVERING THIS COST.
All bookings are being handled by the Development Education Association (DEA).
