Aim

This course is designed for participants to learn how to write a winning grant proposal. Participants will learn first hand about grant writing from experienced trainers. Complex grant writing issues will be addressed by offering participants practical, real-world solutions to their grant writing challenges.

 

The course aims to focus on latest trends, whilst providing participants with up-to-date skills, information and understanding about how to apply successfully for grants.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the course, participants should understand:-

The background, nature and structure of trusts and the trust environment
2.  How to identify sources for researching trusts and how to approaches them
3.  How to match your charities needs with suitable grant making trusts
4.  How to write a winning application using correct methods and principles

5.  Provide participants with opportunity to share success stories.

6.  Building appropriate relationships with trusts

7.  Increased confidence in their ability to produce a winning grant proposal

8.  10. Understand how funding evaluation teams analyze grant proposals

Content
1.
  Summary of the key elements of the modern nature and structure of Grant Making Trusts

2.  Researching GMTs from published and other sources
3.  Planning approaches and making personal contact with GMTs
4.  Constructing applications
5.  
Clarifying the methods you will use to implement your project

6.  Presenting your budget and persuading the evaluation team of your funding request

7.  Demonstrating how your success will be evaluated by the funding organisation

8.  Finishing your proposal with a strong conclusion, including the necessary attachments

Method

The training will be highly participative with plenary, group discussions, role-play, case studies and audio-visuals.

Who should attend?

Trustees, volunteers and staff of community groups. It is also for Fundraisers with limited experience and everybody in the development sector.

Certificates

Participants will be awarded with certificates. This will however depend on if they attend 85% of the training.

How much?

Grant Proposal

All participants are encouraged to come with an idea because by the end of the training, you will take back a grant proposal for submission to funders.
